Frequently Asked

Ask away,
we've got you.

01

How do I get to Kota Kinabalu?

+

Fly into Kota Kinabalu International Airport (BKI). Direct flights are available from Singapore, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Seoul, Tokyo and most major Asian hubs. From Europe, the US, or Australia, the easiest connections are via Singapore or Kuala Lumpur.

02

Where should I stay?

+

We've reserved a room block at Shangri-La Rasa Ria — our venue. We strongly recommend staying on-site so you can roll from ceremony to bed. Booking details have been sent with the formal invitation.

03

Do I need a visa?

+

Most nationalities (UK, US, Canada, EU, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Japan, Korea) get visa-free entry to Malaysia for 30–90 days. Please check the latest requirements for your passport at imi.gov.my.

04

What's the weather like in March?

+

Hot, humid, and beautiful. Expect 27–32°C, occasional warm rain, and golden sunsets. Pack light, breathable fabrics and a swimsuit.

05

What currency is used?

+

Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). Card is accepted at the resort and in town, but bring some cash for taxis, markets and tips.

06

Is there a gift registry?

+

Your presence is the only present we want. If you insist, a contribution to our honeymoon fund — details on request — is the most welcome gift.

07

Can I bring a plus one?

+

Plus ones are by named invitation only — please check your invite. We're keeping the celebration intimate.

08

What should I do while I'm there?

+

Stay a few extra days. Don't miss: sunset at Tanjung Aru, island-hopping in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, the night seafood market, and (if you're feeling brave) climbing Mount Kinabalu.
